Install DigUp on Windows

DigUp 0.7.0-beta.1 brings the same EmbeddingGemma 2 search to 64-bit Windows 10/11. This is a beta — expect rough edges. Download the installer asset directly.

Beta label. Windows builds have had far less field time than Mac 0.6.1. Use the Windows installer download below.

Install checklist

  1. Download DigUp_0.7.0-beta.1_x64-setup.exe.
  2. Run the installer. If Windows SmartScreen appears: More info → Run anyway.
  3. Launch DigUp. Let the model download while you pick folders to search.
  4. Note the first-pass time estimate for your machine.
  5. Open search from any app with Ctrl+Shift+Space.

GPU vs CPU

DigUp runs a quick check and uses the GPU when it is faster and gives the same results; otherwise it uses the CPU. On CPU alone, pictures take a few seconds each — large photo libraries take longer the first time. After that, only new files are read.

To confirm which device was chosen, open the last line of speed.log:

%LOCALAPPDATA%\com.arahim3.digup\logs\speed.log

Look for "device": "gpu" or "device": "cpu". Path may vary by build — check DigUp Settings / docs if missing.
