Why DigUp shows 0 files indexed

You added folders, but DigUp reports near-zero files. This usually means cloud-only placeholders, permissions, or code folders that need an opt-in — not a broken install. Community write-up based on upstream issues #67, #61, #21. Not affiliated with ARahim3.

Numbered checklist

  1. Confirm DigUp version is 0.6.1+ (Mac). Update via Homebrew or DMG.
  2. In DigUp Settings → Folders, note exactly which paths you added.
  3. In Finder, open those folders: if files show cloud icons, download them locally first.
  4. Grant / re-grant Full Disk Access; quit DigUp completely; relaunch.
  5. If the folder is source code, enable code indexing and try a code: query.
  6. Inspect logs (redact personal paths before sharing upstream):
    ~/Library/Application Support/DigUp/index.noindex/
    # Look at app.log and indexer.log
  7. Still stuck? File or comment on #67 with OS, chip, DigUp version, and whether folders are cloud-synced.
